I'm a huge fan of zines, punk, Dada, typography & graphic art & design AND Lance Wyman's design for the 1968 Mexico City Summer Olympics -- which included all manner of media plus fashion stamps inflatables sculpture social space AND punky agitprop against the games itself. Luuuv Ephemeral Art! Poof! It's gone!!
I received mine today. Really beautiful! It's nice to hold the physical piece and the photos are great. I really liked the letter you included too... talking about future issues and how each will be unique and not necessarily conform to one format. I've been wanting to try something like this for a while and this was really inspiring. Thanks for sharing the process!
Looks great! I love the use of the font from the Olympic Games and using the orange of the metro system. Montreal has some interesting similarities to Mexico city from what I remember from my two weeks there, the colour of the metro being one of them before Montreal got new trains in the last five years. Love the movements you've sited and the zine looks very interesting. Congrats my friend!
Ah thank you Matthew, yeah, I remember the similarities in the colour pallette and design, same with the Expos. Lucky them for getting new trains, the metro in Mexico City is falling apart. It's embarrassing!
Thank you for sharing your process, Xavi especially the art movements that inspired the design of your zine. I always love reading or hearing about that. We’ll done and congratulations!!
I made my first zine this year. It’s an involved process but I think one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had in photography. Congrats on making yours, it looks great.
I love what has inspired you to make this very good zine. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for early next year!
Thanks Andrew, hope you're enjoying them! I've got a couple of ideas laid down for the theme of the zine but can't decide which way to go.
I have every confidence that whichever way you choose will be good.
Haha thanks, that's encouraging but the pressure is high. I like the challenge though. 😃
This was super interesting to read. Now I am really looking forward to receiving my mail from you (no pressure though)!
Thank you Susanne, now it's down to snail mail. Hopefully you won't have to wait long.

All gone, just a few relics here and there in Mexico City and a few souvenirs. Such cool times for design!

Ah great to hear. I'm glad you like it.
Yeah, think of them as concept albums, each has the same content but the concept is completely different.
Shout if you need any help with yours, happy to give you some pointers.

Great zine, I can see the different influences you mentioned coming together into your own unique aesthetic.
Many thanks Gui, glad to read!

Wow, what a fabulous…..everything. No doubt this took tremendous effort and it shows. Congratulations with the first issue completed.
¡Muy interesante el artículo! Es una pena que la mayoría del talento fue perseguido y exiliado en esa epoca.
Es buenísimo el blog en esa página, gracias por la nota.
